“Königslinde” The King´s Lime At Castle “Linderhof” in Upper Bavaria

In 1000 m altitude above sea level in a scenic environment King Louis II of Bavaria built one of his beautiful castles. His architects were advised to save this lime tree even though a large fountain with stairway had to be built near the tree. Later, a tree house was installed into the trees crown and King Louis took his late breakfasts there. The branch with the platform, where King Louis once sat died already many decades ago and left a large hole in the trunk.Due to severe decay in the entire trunk the administration of Bavarian castles, lakes and gardens engaged Brudi & Partner, TreeConsult for risk analysis

2000 Year Old Larch Trees In Val Ultimo, South-Tyrol, Region Bolzano

The age of these Larch trees is estimated as high as 2000 years and is a tourist attraction since many decades. The safety of these still 32 m high trees were inspected by Brudi & Partner, TreeConsult was carried out in behalf of the government of South Tyrol

Tree Inventories And Tree Inspection

The “Mozart city” Salzburg put Brudi & Partner in charge of the safety inspection of over 20.000 city trees. Thanks to sound experience and efficient software the tough time frame for this project could be kept below the limits by a several weeks. This was only possible with the awarded software ISyMan 3.0 which integrates to any GIS software. Therefore the whole project could be carried less expensive than originally planned. The saved resources could be used for tree work. .

El Escorial In Madrid

In the gardens of the royal dynasty at Madrid Spanish Fir (Abies pinsapo) and Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) with a height of 38 m were inspected with tree friendly high tech pulling tests.
Ecological Building Site Management

In order to protect valuable tree stands during the construction process Brudi & Partner was entrusted with the ecological building site management for a extended development area. The challenge was to win different construction companies and land owners for compliance of tree preserving treatments and procedures. As the building processes approached the public demanded for explanation because some more trees need to be felled than originally planned by the landscape architect. The picture shows a sheet pile necessary for the construction of a underground garage. Before sheet piles are driven in the ground branches had to be bound back to avoid damage in the crown

Heritage Trees

Brudi & Partner TreeConsult inspect regularly the traffic safety of heritage for different municipalities and county administrations with sophisticated awarded software.

Treatments are being inspected for quality of conformance thus guaranteeing traffic safety and good condition.

Ropes Courses in Trees

... provide an attractive alternative to classical ropes courses. Yet the use of living, swaying trees as load bearing structure also bears numerous implications that challenge construction and safety analysis.

Brudi & Partner TreeConsult regularly inspects trees used as support in ropes courses and consults owners during design and construction phases. Loads generated from ropes courses are analysed and related to the load bearing capacity of trees using static-integrated methods.

As a member of the European Ropes Course Association, Brudi & Partner TreeConsult is also involved in training of inspectors and development of industrial standards.

International Research Projects

For the British Forestry Commission and the Health and Safety Executive, Brudi & Partner TreeConsult evaluated current rigging and dismantling practices in a joint project with Treevolution Arboricultural Services, UK.

A current research focuses on the strength of limbs and branches used as anchor points in trees and is carried out in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan in a project funded by the TREE Fund (Hyland R. Johns Grant 2006).
